4th Annual Silent Auction and Chili Dinner
Description: Browse the collection of fine items donated by area merchants & private parties. Register your bid and take home a treasure. Have a bowl of homemade chili, a hot cup of coffee or cold tea. All proceeds will be donated to Carter County/Elizabethton Animal Shelter Building Fund.

Big John's collecting food for families in need
Big John's Closeouts in Elizabethton will be collecting bags of good quality dog and cat food to help those families struggling to feed their pets this holiday season. We will also take cash donations to build up a pet food pantry fund that will allow us to offer vouchers so that families can purchase the type of food their pet is already accustomed to.
All donations can be dropped off anytime during regular business hours,8-6 Monday thru Friday or 8-4 on Sat. For more information please contact Danika at East Tennessee Spay and Neuter at 423-289-5548.

Parrots & Tails III
Join us for this year's Parrots & Tails concert by the river! There will be live music, overnight camping, food, fun, and as always: pet friendly! The funds generated from Parrots and Tails III will all go toward construction of the shelter, new computers, new links in to channels for adoption of our unwanted pets, education of the public to be responsible pet owners and spay and neuter, lobbying to enforce leash laws and education and training for new staff.
This years Parrots and Tails III has lined up 7 great musical talents that will perform in rapid succession from 1-10 p.m. Please see the line up and times on the poster. Other events will also be available with a celebrity dunk tank featuring the city mayor, Curt Alexander, county mayor, Leon Humphrey, city councilman, Richard Tester, Chamber of Commerce Director, Felicia English, Director of N.E.State College, Dr. Keith Young, Carter County Sheriff, Chris Mathes, Carl Niddifer representing the Lodge, Jim Holmes, V.P. Carter Co Bank, Nathan Goodwin, Publisher of the Elizabethton Star, to mention a few. To be more children friendly this year they offer 3 classes of competition for a Cornhole tournaments with ages 5-10, 11-15 and 16 and older beginning at 3:00 p.m. 2 classes of competition for a fun watermelon seed spitting contest at 4 p.m. both with cash and other prizes, Tractor Supply is offering a FREE dog and puppy flee and tick dip from 2-4 p.m. and throughout the day there will be low cost fresh cooked foods specials, funnel cake, and shaved ice. At 6 p.m. will be the live auction of a one of a kind, custom painted Yamaha APX - 500 acoustic / electric guitar donated by Morrell Music of Kingsport and painted by Carlos Montoya.There is even a service available for chip implant identity for your special pet. A full day pass entitles the patron to FREE overnight camping on the banks of the river with complimentary coffee, juice and pastries in the morning. Show starts at 1:00 so come early and set up your tent, umbrella, lounge chairs or canopy and get ready for the show of the year. Cost for an all day pass is a tax deductible $20 donation. A partial day pass from 6-10 is $12 and children 14 and under are admitted free when accompanied by an adult. ALL PROCEEDS SPONSORED BY THE SHELTER COMMITTEE GO 100% TO THE NEW CARTER COUNTY / ELIZABETHTON ANIMAL SHELTER BUILDING FUND. Animal Walkathon
Please Join us for the Animal Walkathon at Sycamore Shoals State Park, May 14, 2011. All proceeds benefit Carter County Animal Shleter Building Fund. Mobile Adoption Unit and Husky Rescue will have animals available for adoption! The Mobile Adoption Center will also be awarding prizes for Best Dressed Dog, Cutest Dog, Owner/Dog Look Alike Contest, & "Animal Idol" Most Talented Dog. Come join us!

Golf Tournament
The Elizabethton Animal Shelter Building Fund will be hosting a Golf Tournament at the Elizabethton Golf Course with all proceeds going to the New Shelter Building Fund. The golf tournament will be a 4 person select shot tournament with a shotgun-style start commencing at 1:00PM. The entry fees will be $50.00/person or $200.00 for a full team. Hole Sponsoring will also be available at $100.00/hole (Includes a sign). Women's and Senior Tees will be available. Red tees and Mulligans will also be available for purchase. Food will be provided on site (Bar-B-Que).

- Longest Drive
