Recently, a group of concerned citizens formed a committee with a common goal of building a new animal shelter for Carter County. The Shelter is in horrible condition. Many people have offered their time, services, and money to help reach our goal but we still have a ways to go. This website is dedicated to achieving that goal with the help and support of our surrounding communities.

Facts about the Animal Shelter

  • The shelter receives, on average, over 500 cats and dogs each month.
  • The shelter is only 1,200 sq. ft.
  • The shelter facility is in very sub-par condition.
  • All dog kennels are outside with no protection from heat or cold.
